Nicholas I. Gerson is a firm partner and a second-generation trial lawyer dedicated exclusively to representing victims and their families in serious injury and wrongful death claims. His practice focuses on auto, truck, and motor vehicle accidents, cruise ship and maritime injuries, negligent security, premises liability, crime victims, and other complex personal injury litigation.
Since being admitted to practice in 2005, Mr. Gerson has built a reputation for relentless advocacy and securing countless victories in the form of monetary damages for his clients. His achievements have been cited in numerous legal opinions, including those related to cruise ship and maritime injury cases. Over the course of his career, he has recovered more than $50 million in verdicts and settlements, including numerous high-value jury awards. Mr. Gerson was featured in the Miami Daily Business Review for securing a $10 million jury verdict in a high-profile crime victim case. In his first jury trial in 2007, he obtained a $1.7 million wrongful death verdict against a Miami nightclub operator.
Mr. Gerson is committed to holding corporations-including cruise lines and other negligent business operators-legally accountable for their negligence and careless business practices. His dedication to representing catastrophic injury victims, including crime victims, both on land and at sea, has earned him national recognition. He has been featured on ABC News, News Nation Nightline, FOX News, and other media outlets for his work in high-profile cases.
Mr. Gerson earned his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law and clerked for the Honorable Henry H. Harnage of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. He is an active member of the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association, the American Justice Association, and the National Crime Victim Bar Association. Additionally, he has served as a guest lecturer for the Maritime Law Society at St. Thomas University School of Law.
Mr. Gerson is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
