New Paid Sick Leave and Family Medical Leave Requirements for Employers and Employees

Under the new "Families First Coronavirus Response Act", effective April 2, 2020 and extending to December 31, 2020, the US Government is mandating that Family Medical Leave and Paid Sick Leave benefits be provided by small business employers. Small businesses are defined as having less than 500 employees, although businesses with less than 50 employees can request a waiver if these provisions affect its ability to continue as a going concern.
